Living Experience

A PLACE TO LIVE

Tri Delta facilities provide a home away from home to many. Our members embrace the ideal of friendship and value self-respect as they are free to be themselves, form strong friendships and have their current friendships grow stronger while spending time with each other in one of our chapter locations.

A PLACE TO LEARN

Tri Delta fosters academic excellence. By providing our members with quiet study spaces, academic resources, modern amenities and Wi-Fi throughout the facility, our members are able to focus on their academics and learn in a comfortable and supportive environment.

A PLACE TO LEAD

Outside the classroom, Tri Delta members are boldly leading the way and are actively involved on their campuses and in their communities. Tri Delta spaces support their leadership and allow members to grow into the best version of themselves.

The Delta Iota chapter house was built in 1930, and additions to the house were made in 1954 and 1965. In 2012, the Delta Iota House Corporation began exploring the possibility of renovating the Tri Delta house. With the growth of membership, the advancements in technology, and the lack of adequate living quarters and facilities, it has became clear that an investment in the future was imperative in order to preserve the legacy treasured by so many.

In April 2017, the chapter of Delta Iota held a house renovation and expansion groundbreaking at the iconic 920 W. Maple. This expansion and renovation will bring the house to approximately 43,000 square feet and will cost about $14 million. In addition to more space, the newly renovated Delta Iota chapter house will meet current technological capabilities, have more study space, a larger industrial kitchen, and larger common areas for chapter meetings and dining to serve all in-house and out-of-house collegiates. At completion, the house will hold 98 beds and consist of five floors, including a basement and an attic.

Throughout these last 100 plus years, the house has provided countless memories for the many who had the opportunity to share in its wonders.  This expansion initiative will extend the opportunities that Delta Iota Chapter has offered over the past 100 years to future generations of young women.

“We are thrilled to expand our Chapter House to accommodate our membership over the next 100 years,” said Kathryn Lawson Griffin, Building the Bonds project chair. “Our home will have ample community space for out-of-house members, state-of-the-art technology, infrastructure and security, and will be energy efficient.”

“This will be the first major renovation for the Tri Delta house in 50 years,” said Chancellor Steinmetz at the recent groundbreaking ceremony. “And it’s a clear statement by the Delta Iota chapter that the bonds they share are important, meaningful and worth preserving for future generations.”
